The B-Town Eatery sits comfortably in the heart of Ballarat Central as a versatile spot that blends the welcoming ease of a local café with the satisfying variety of an Australian restaurant. From morning brekkie runs to laid-back lunchtime meet-ups and casual takeout, it’s the kind of place that locals swing by throughout the day for reliable, flavourful meals and quality coffee.

Early risers and brunch lovers will appreciate the fresh, thoughtfully prepared options here—whether it’s a classic Eggs Benedict or one of their more inventive dishes like the Belgian waffle paired with crispy chicken and maple bacon, which balances textures and tastes in a way that clearly resonates with regulars. Their drink menu pulls no punches either, with a standout range of fresh juices and coffee-based drinks including rich mochas, matcha lattes, and refreshing frappés. The matcha latte, served with a generous pour and smooth, well-steamed milk, is a popular choice for a mid-morning boost.

The atmosphere feels warm and unpretentious, with friendly staff making an effort to welcome you like a regular even on your first visit. It’s the kind of space where you can grab a quick takeout meal or settle in for a slower catch-up. Midweek mornings and weekend brunch hours tend to bring in a good mix of locals, from professionals grabbing their coffee fix to couples and friends enjoying a laid-back bite. The service is consistently attentive without feeling rushed, making it a comfortable spot to unwind or get some light work done on your laptop.

If you’re after something filling for lunch, their burgers hold a steady reputation for juicy patties and balanced flavours, often paired with desserts like tiramisu or Biscoff cheesecake that lean toward creamy and fresh rather than overly sweet. Overall, The B-Town Eatery fits nicely into Ballarat’s local dining scene—accessible but with enough personality in its dishes and drinks to stand apart from the usual café routine.

I stopped by B Town Eatery in Ballarat last week and honestly, I’m so glad I did. The place has such a warm, comfy vibe, the kind of spot where you instantly feel relaxed. I ordered the Belgian waffle with crispy chicken and maple bacon, and wow… that combo is actually a Bombo which just works and explodes the flavour. The waffle was soft inside with a perfect crunch, the chicken was super crispy still juicy inside, and the maple bacon added the right amount of sweetness. Easily one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while and that too in Ballarat. Big shout-out to Chef Kay and team their suggestions were spot on and you can tell they really care about the food and the customers. Service overall was friendly, quick, and just really genuine. If you’re in Ballarat, definitely give B Town Eatery a try. I’ll 110% be going back!

Tried the Btown Bomber and it was absolutely amazing! The burger was juicy, loaded with flavour and perfectly balanced with crispy coating and rich sauce – easily one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. On the side, we ordered the tiramisu and Biscoff cheesecake, and both were next level. Creamy, fresh, not overly sweet – the perfect finish to a great meal. The service was excellent – lovely and welcoming staff, very friendly and attentive. Wait time was minimal, which made the experience even better. While waiting for the food, I ordered a coffee and honestly, it was the best coffee I’ve had in a while. Overall, amazing food, great desserts, top-tier coffee and outstanding customer service. Definitely worth a visit and I’ll be coming back again soon!

Lovely little cafe in the heart of Ballarat ran by an equally lovely gentleman! I heard of them initially on Facebook through posts about giving out free meals Christmas Day and wanted to support them. It was a lovely experience with delicious food and refreshing drinks! Couldn’t fault the Eggs Benedict, runny eggs, decent serve of ham, soft sour dough, devine hollandaise, beautiful presentation. 10/10 will definitely be coming back.

Came here with my partner in the morning, we were immediately met with friendly faces at the counter and were seated immediately. We both got matcha lattes for our drinks, then the classic schnitzel panini and the B-town's benny for our food. ~ MATCHA LATTE We got the large size and found the serving very generous! The matcha is well done and our drinks came out hot, and perfectly steamed milk. B-TOWN'S BENNY The eggs Benedict was simple yet perfect; it feels as though many places overcomplicate eggs Benedict, but we found the B-Town Benny just spoke for itself. The hollandaise sauce was creamy, tangy, nicely seasoned, and excellently portioned. The poached eggs were lovely and runny, and the muffin was soft despite being lightly toasted. CLASSIC SCHNITZEL PANINI The chicken schnitzel was crispy and stayed that way, while still being moist inside. Grilled onions were a nice touch, and we found them to be perfectly caramelised, really bringing it together. Lastly, the bread was lightly toasted and soft. Overall it was a true classic chicken schnitzel panini, so comforting, and oh so yummy! ~ ATMOSPHERE was cozy and welcoming. We personally found the music to be a bit too loud, having trouble hearing each other despite being the only patrons at the time, but something like that is very easily remedied. OVERALL we very thoroughly enjoyed our time here and were surprised to be the only customers dining at the time. We will be recommending this place to friends and will definitely become a staple for us when on Sturt Street!

Best Brekky and Lunch in Ballarat Hands down the best brekky I have had in Ballarat. I saw the reviews and decided to visit, and now I know why people love this place. The food is fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. The chef is a great guy who truly cares about every plate that leaves the kitchen. We came back again for lunch because everything looked too good to miss. The toasties are next level and the coffee is amazing. This café is a hidden gem that more locals need to discover. It is also perfect for students with extra discounts and a relaxed vibe. If you are searching for the best breakfast or lunch in Ballarat, this is the place to go. Thank me later.

Great cafe find! We tried the big breakfast and it was amazing. Everything on the plate was super fresh - you can really taste the quality. Their long black coffee was also really good (I had two!). And don't skip the Tiramisu! You have to try it. The B Town Eatery Cafe is a good spot for fresh food and coffee.

The eggs were absolute perfection, with hollandaise sauce so good I could honestly drink it. The crispy spud was divine, and the chorizo packed so much flavor it was simply yum! Beyond the food, the service was incredible—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The owner has a fantastic approach to supporting the community, which makes the experience feel even more special. You can tell there’s a bigger vision at play, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds in our region. A true gem that blends amazing food with heart and purpose.

I’ve been to many cafés around Ballarat, but B-Town Eatery easily stands out as the best café and restaurant in Ballarat Central. The moment you walk in, you can feel the positive vibe, smell the fresh coffee brewing, and see how much love goes into every dish. Their Eggs and Bacon Roll and Ham and Cheese Toastie are absolutely delicious — simple, fresh, and perfectly made every time. I also tried their signature B-Town’s Bomber, and it’s honestly one of the best breakfast meals I’ve had in Ballarat. The Chicken Parma and Chicken Wings with four flavours are another highlight, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The coffee here is exceptional smooth, aromatic, and full-bodied. If you love coffee, this is the place to visit for the best coffee in Ballarat Central. Their Ground Pleasures Hot Chocolate is also a must-try on a cold Ballarat morning. I also appreciate that B-Town Eatery offers fresh juices and vegan-friendly food options, which makes it a great choice for everyone. Everything is fresh, beautifully presented, and made with care. Whether you’re searching for the best breakfast café in Ballarat, best restaurant for brunch, or simply a relaxing spot with amazing coffee, B-Town Eatery deserves to be at the top of your list. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food, warm service, and premium quality coffee in Ballarat.
